Elle Collections FW10








I'm the kind of person who will buy magazines (and books) based on covers, so I think I'll be picking this up.
Does anyone buy Collection mags? If yes, why? If no, why?
Which is your favourite? Elle Collections? Vogue Collections? Gap Press? Others?

i rarely buy magazines now but i don't see the point if collections are easy to see online now.

idk, the tactile aspect is nice, so you can refer back to pieces without needing your computer or a printer...also some of the collection mags photograph a collection's accessories separately and organize them by designer = way better than say style.com's details section.

Some sort of dementia overtook me and I did not buy these Italian ones I saw on sale in a design specialty press shop in Paris; I can't remember the publication name for the life of me, but those were definitely the best.

A friend gave me the Vogue Collection from S/S 2010, which is one of my least favorite seasons to begin with...but the section with the individually photographed accessories is pretty sweet.

The cover on this one BLOWS MY MIND. Do you know when it hits stands?

A few people on the TFS thread say that have it already, so I imagine you should be able to pick it up soon.

NGL once I buy each issue of VP Collections, the accessories section is first place a flip to.

I have a couple of issues of Gap Press and one issue of Vogue Paris Collections, but I haven't purchased any lately...however likewise I might get this one!

I love these issues along with the Vogue Paris Collections, but they're just so pricey! It's hard for me not to pick up every new issue of Gap Press or anything tactile that I can refer back to.

I flipped through an Elle Collections issue and while it is cool it's just so...idk topical and I like things straightforward and all put together like it is in Vogue Paris Collections (which is thus my favourite).

I don't think I'd love it so much and buy it if it were as expensive as it seems to be elsewhere. I mean it costs like £25 or roughly 38 dollars in London?! I think that's crazy.

Tooooo expensive but I would love one. I have one from like, SS09? that I got from FIT for free lol. It was $30 and in the pile of magazines we could cut up.....so I was like......

The cover of that one is awesome.

i loooooove elle collections, i only have one issue tho cos it's hard to find in my city. i'd love to buy vogue paris collections but £25? er stfu
elle is quite cheap for what it is and it's always well done

vogue paris collections is like... almost a $100 here. i own one copy, but really it's stunning. i don't regret it.

everyone says to get the elle collections, but im like u and i judge it by the cover and i havent been impressed by any of their recent ones but i think i might be buying this one. it's only around $20 here.

i brought the last seasons vogue paris collections, really expensive for something thats nothing really special. Elle collections is more better, the layout, detail and everything else and only £6.

I but the Vogue Paris Collections for the normal seasons and the Gap Press ones for couture; they do add up--so expensive--and they're heavy to carry around! :(

I've been buying all the WWD collections for about two years now, I just like the behind the scenes pictures, and I also kind of feels like I'm building an archive in a way

Yes, I love it! Vogue Paris ones are nice. I prefer magazine v. online because it's just easier for me.

I'm conflicted. I love the idea of having a print issue with nice photos of each look. But none of the collection mags do that! They only pick like 10 looks from each designer. I want all 36 or whatever, damn it!

i don't buy magazines anymore since i like getting the images off style.com, even though i don't see how it ~moves or the deep details. i get tired of some editor saying 'DO THIS IT'S SO NOW'.

i bought the Elle collection SS10 one and i love it. they're rare to spot in my bookstore though.
